Things a translator can be thankful for

Snoopy and Woodstock celebrate Thanksgiving

It’s Thanksgiving Day here in the US of A. I’ve got a lot to be thankful for as a professional translator:

  • a supportive husband with exceptional coding skills
  • the freedom to take a 2-hour break in the middle of the day to take advantage of good weather, just because
  • the incredible variety of subjects I get paid to learn about

I’d also like to thank you—for reading, for writing, and for sticking around. Feel free to add anything you’re thankful for as a professional here in the comments. What (or who) helps you do what you do best?

  1. I’m thankful for dictionaries, proz forums (so much information!) and other helpful translators who are willing to share their expertise on both translation and business. I’m also thankful to work from home when it’s -18 and snowy out!

What are your thoughts? Let's hear them!
