Joyeux quatorze juillet!

Eiffel Tower fireworksHappy Bastille Day! On this day in 1789, the French proletariat stormed the Bastille in protest against a political system in which a privileged minority could prevent a majority from changing the system for the better. Shortly after this uprising, feudalism was abolished in France.

Bastille Day is celebrated in many countries around the world, sponsored by embassies and French cultural associations. As for myself, I think at least a glass of good wine is in order. Enjoy the festivities, all!
